THAT is yoga.

In yoga, we all came for different reasons. Maybe it was an injury or stress. Maybe we were out of shape and wanted to get back into some kind of activity.

Most of us had some kind of preconceived notion before we actually came here about the poses. Why we do them, what they look like, etc.

The physical pose itself isn’t even that important most of the time. It’s just not that important how deep you go. It’s not important how it looks. What matters is that you FEEL the pose. Each pose has a lesson and the EXPERIENCE you have in the pose with that lesson is what matters.

Maybe your lesson in a pose is... “How does my breath affect my nervous system?”

“How can I practice returning to a steady mind when my body is feeling this?”

“Does this practice increase my resistance to stress?” THAT is yoga.
